Primary Consultants/Partners

Timothy Owens, M.S.

Currently serving as the Managing Partner and Lead Trainer for The Owens Group an organizational training and development firm, and as a Certified Trainer/Consultant with the National Coalition Building Institute, the Center for American and International Law, and Life Issues Training and Development, Mr. Owens is responsible for helping develop and deliver presentations having to do with issues related to relationship management including such topics as: Leadership Development, Emotional Intelligence, Conflict Resolution, Diversity Management, Team Building, Customer Service, Values Clarification, and Change Management.

Mr. Owens brings to his position a wealth of knowledge and experience gained through hismore than 10 years of experience in higher education and over 10 years experience as a presenter/speaker/consultant. He earned his Master of Science degree from the University of North Texas in Rehabilitation Counseling. His Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Public Relations is from the University of Oklahoma.

Mr. Owens’ current and past service to community/professional associations and boards include: UNT Discovery Advisory Board, National Coalition Building Institute, UNT Ally Program, Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education, Leadership Denton - Class of 2008, the Denton Black Chamber of Commerce, and The Greater Denton Chamber of Commerce.

Jennifer R. Owens, L.M.S.W

Jennifer R. Owens, L.M.S.W., Owens Group Senior Consultant, is also an Independent Contractor for Compass Eldercare and formerly the Director of Social Services at Good Samaritan Society. She has been in the field of social work for nearly 20 years and worked with youth, families, and the elderly.

She is also Director and Founder of The Kamau Family and Leadership Preservation Center. Jennifer has been a social worker in the consultant business since 1996. She is a Family Development Specialist and has been a licensed social worker with the states of New York, Maryland and currently in the state of Texas. She has also been a college professor at Cazenovia College for seven years. In addition, she is a diversity trainer and member of the National Coalition Building Institute.

Jennifer is a graduate of Cazenovia College, State University of New York (SUNY) Brockport and received her Masters Degree in Social Work from Howard University. Jennifer traveled to South Africa (in May 2003) and completed a community development plan to help families and youth in South African churches, and spoke to youth groups in Sharpesville & Kuma, South Africa.
