What’s Good Log
Objective: The What’s Good Log is an activity designed to help youth practice the skill of maintaining a positive attitude even when facing difficult and frustrating life circumstances. While we may have very little control over the challenges we face in life the one thing we have complete control over is our attitude.
We manage our attitudes by controlling our perspective. As we are able to consistently see and focus on the positives in our lives, even while acknowledging the difficulties, we are then better able to maintain a positive perspective that produces a positive life attitude. While we may not always control our circumstances, “real men” are almost always successful in controlling their attitudes.
Directions: Print the form below (using your browser) and simply complete the date and list one thing per day you consider good that has happened for you and/or your family. Turn the completed form in at each class period to receive credit for having completed the activity. When you have completed at least 3 forms or 21 entries you will receive credit for having completed the assignment.
Parents: Please discuss this activity with your young person to help him notice the good things (small and/or large) in his life each day, and to be consistent in logging them as entries on his What’s Good Log. He may find it a little difficult at first, but as he practices that skill each day, it will become easier over time.
